There are times when we labour over posts, but there are others when we simply want to bring you The Good Stuff. Today is one of those days. So here are ten bargain buys I’ve spotted and hankered after (and may even have in my shopping bag right now).
1.Lilac sweater, £49, & Other Stories
This colour suits pretty much everybody. Will work with jeans, leather leggings, tucked into a skirt and with this season’s ubiquitous checked trousers. Quite simply, it’s a joy to throw on of a cold dull morning.
2. Cordelia cord shirt, £49, Monsoon
Obviously, you know that corduroy (last worn in my case when I was four and my mother put me in skinny green dungarees and a cream poloneck – an outfit I have long mocked and would now totally consider wearing) is so very hot right now. This blouse is an easy in if green dungarees are too much for you.
3. Heritage check trousers, £39, Topshop
My checked trouser journey continues (I WILL stop wearing jeans every single day). I love the look of these – and they’d work with all manner of coloured knits.
4. Floral midi skirt, £55, M&S
I saw this in store today and thought it would be perfect for party season (if that’s even a thing any more? Maybe just festive season? Or drinks?). And would also work by day with a black sweater and boots. I want it! I want it!
5. Stella McCartney triangle bra, £35, The Outnet
Okay, so this isn’t for the larger-breasted amongst us – but come on: you have a cleavage, you can’t have everything. We flatties have to have something to redress the balance, and this delicate lace number is one such boon. Stella McCartney for £35? I’m in.
6. Saddle bag, £22, Next
A total bargain of a bag that does work and weekend.
7. Sparkle flats, £30, Next
Because you can never have enough sparkle (as demonstrated by our #saturdaysparkle on Instagram). I love the idea of wearing these with boyfriend jeans.
8. Chain cross body bag, £17.99, Mango
I love a ‘proper’ leather bag – but I also enjoy the thrill of a finding something that looks designer and costs less than £20.
9. Braided cord sweater, £39, Mango
Hello, statement sweater. They make getting dressed so easy.
10. Faux fur jacket, £79.99, H&M
My sister-in-law (the fashion editor one) Anti, came over for supper the other week, brandishing a bottle of Prosecco and this jacket, which I covertly tried on and decided that I coveted really rather highly.
