Hurrah for Spring and flowers and lighter evenings and gorgeous new clothing collections! We’re not ashamed to admit that we love a change of season as an excuse to shop, but who needs an excuse for children who have inconveniently grown (how dare they?!) and actually need new clothes? Olivier Baby & Kids is one of our favourite brands for small people, making beautiful vintage-inspired pieces, GORGEOUS baby wear, great cashmere and -this season – some amazing rompers, dresses, shorts and trousers. And the best news? We’ve got an exclusive 20% for our readers. Here’s our edit of our favourite pieces…
First up: these Liberty-print bloomers. I mean, really? How gorgeous are they? Then there are the linen trousers, which are a really cool cut – I particularly like the chambray, although the navy stripe and dusty rose are also beautiful. These best-selling rompers are ideal for hot summer days (yes, we will have them!), while the cashmere cardigans with either a star or heart on the back are always excellent. And then once you’ve got past the cuteness of the baby in the top pic, just focus on his dungarees! All the heart emojis… Also, if you’re looking for a baby presents, then these bear-eared cashmere hats will get you serious brownie points.
I wish the Beatrice dress (above) came in my size, it would be perfect for sunny weather and holidays. I also love the Clemmie Liberty dress (the back straps are ace) and the super-pretty Tabitha dress. Also keep an eye out for the dress in the top pic, which will be in stock soon. Carrying on with the Liberty print theme, the Maria shirts are very pretty as are the Jemima linen skirts with braces. And of course, there are those cardis with a heart on the back, which are surprisingly easy to care for (and this is from someone whose boys have rolled around the garden in them).
These Alfie trousers are a great, relaxed cut and just look really cool (above. I particularly like the navy stripe, although the cool blue has also caught my eye. And the Ernest shorts! Just look at them! I also really like the trio of shirts from Liberty print to stripe – great design and easy to wear. And finally, because this is what OBK do so well – the cashmere. I’d always thought that cashmere wasn’t the most sensible option for children, but I’m pleased to say that I’m wrong. My boys each have two OBK cashmere jumpers and they LOVE them. They travelled in them on the plane on our recent holiday (super-comfy) and regularly choose them for parties. They’ve also kept really well and this is from someone who is a Domestic Novice. This is probably my favourite style this season.
