3 Interiors Trends to Try Now

Have you heard about the new interiors trends for 2018 yet? No one is suggesting that  you ought to redecorate every season, but if you are thinking about giving your home a zhuzh or if, like us, planning a move, then you might want to have one eye out for the decorating trends rocking the world of interiors right now.

Sage is the new neutral

So this is nice, right? And how nice to have a new neutral to play with. We love grey – don’t get us wrong, grey (500 shades thereof) and white are still classics – but this mossy, earthy shade is edging its way centre stage. (According to Pinterest, who report a pretty conclusive 179% upswing in searches for and pins of the tone). It’s calming, harmonious and works in pretty much any room.

Ultra Violet: the Pantone colour of the year

Subtle, no; fabulous, yes. You may already have noticed a preponderance of purple hues on the high street. (Alex and I discovered last week that we have a love-hate thing about lilac: I love it; she hates it. (I love it so much, that I have my eye on this dress for the new season.) It’s coming to your home, too. For the brave, there are purple walls, for the less-so, how about a purple sofa or chair?

Patterned plants: the new palm print

Could this be the easiest home update ever? We love it when interiors trends are this simple. When we say patterned plants – we mean just that. So get yourself a plant with patterned leaves and – ta-da – your home is so 2018 already. Or you can opt to be inspired by the leaves. I’ve had my eye on Elizabeth Scarlett’s Insta feed for a while – she’s had this  trend tapped for a while (P.S. everything else she makes is gorgeous, too. Just saying.)

Want to dip a toe in – how about starting with these?
