Imagine, if you will, a brand which is all about flattering classics – brilliantly cut iconic pieces (the Breton, a great shirt, ultra-flattering trousers, a perfect cashmere sweater…) which somehow work with your wardrobe and your life. Yep – you can wear them for work and play; it’s all casual yet chic. The sweet joy. This is what Me+Em does.
Let us start with the luxe button-hem slim crop trousers (£135) which I geniunely think might be the best trousers I’ve ever worn. The cut (ahem, not *quite* so cropped on me, but still super-flattering with the flash of ankle) is both supremely comfortable and somehow lean-making (apparently Me + Em do clever things with seams. I have no idea what this might be, but I am all in favour of it). And that button detail makes them sing. They’d be perfect for work, or fling on an oversized knit (I have been wearing this cable knit which I herald as the angels would) to dress them down. I can see every woman I know wearing a pair – and they’re an investment worth making.
Whilst I’m here, let me just give an honorable mention to the Military Forever coat? I think I love this coat. That is all.
They’ve also got knits nailed. We love the textured stitch off-duty jumper (was £149, now £104, available in four colours), the cable weekend jumper (was £149, now £104) – as worn here and here , the double rib swing jumper (was £165, now £115) with its clever removable snood neck – as seen on Alex here, the perfect swing polo (was £99, now £69) and OF COURSE the knitted Breton (was £99, now £49).
Now these are possibly the other ultimate trousers your wardrobe needs. Alex raves about them. The luxe track pant is just as happy with a pretty shirt as it is with a casual knit slung over the top. It loves heels and trainers. What a accommodating item. Team them with this pussybow blouse or this frill trim blouse (a total bargain in the sale).
Happy sales shopping! Let us know how you get on….
