Sales. I love the idea of them, but hate the reality of walking into a shop (Zara, I’m talking to you) and being confronted by a jumble sale so hideous that I just turn around and walk out again (arguably good for your bank balance). Which is why, I’ve taken to perusing the sales online (arguably not so good for your bank balance). With the end of the sales just around the corner, we’ve found 5 fabulous bargains to snap up now (or at least snap up and send back to alleviate aforementioned bank balance situation…..
Natasha has this top and bloomin’ gorgeous it is too. So much so, I think I might snap one up – not to wear in a weird W&W twins kind of way, but for an upcoming job interview where I need to look and feel smart (something I definitely do not feel these days). If you haven’t heard of Claudie Pierlot (it feels like it kind of came out of nowhere), it is a French brand, which sits alongside Maje and Sandro in its French Fabulousness. If this top isn’t to your taste, then do check out the others, there are some serious beauties to be seen…£77.50 (down from £155).
I have been searching for a summer jacket for year. Years!!!! Usually I fanny around the shops from April-July half-heartedly looking for one whilst carting around a giant parka that is far too hot to be worn anytime after March, only to give up in August with the thought of autumn almost around the corner. But this year, it’s different!! I’ve found a coat and a very nice one too. Whilst it’s not going to be lighting up any Fashion Week soon, it is perfect for drizzly days when you need a hood/school runs/kid stuff/British holidays. It’s bloody marvellous, if you can call what’s basically an expensive Barbour anorak marvellous. And I’m so middle-aged these days, that I certainly can. Moreover, it means I can stop looking for a waterproof jacket as I intend never to buy another one again! Now £132 (down from £189).
If I wasn’t such a clumsy coffee-spilling oaf and actually had somewhere to wear this, I’d be all over this dress like a shot. Mango is great these days, perhaps even better than Zara in fact (thoughts on a postcode please) and it’s definitely worth scoping out the dress section of their sale. If I were to buy this, I’d team with a black blazer for summer office dressing or a denim jacket for holidays/nights out/insouciant lounging cool. Now £19.99
Hush cashmere is awesome. I have this jumper in another shade and love it. It’s ridiculously soft and the boyfriend cut is super-flattering. I’ve been wearing it over an old pair of cut-off denim shorts and might just have found my perfect school run outfit. Now £120 (down from £185).
Talking of cashmere, Chinti & Parker are offering 50% discounts on lots of their beautiful designs including their iconic star sweaters and this little beauty. Love the coral colour and the logo reminds me of that episode in Sex and The City when Samantha drags Carrie along to a US Navy party (*cue nostalgic sigh at thought of Sex and The City*)
