Well, that was glorious. What a gift of a bank holiday weekend: it felt like a holiday (even if you didn’t venture further than your garden). How lovely, I thought, to wake up every day and throw on nothing more than sunscreen and a sundress. So simple. So very much the inspiration for a blog post: a summer dress wish list*.
*Some of which I may already own. Or *possibly* might be winging their way to me right now.
I appreciate this summer dress malarkey is very personal. Alex, for instance, shies away from wrap numbers – whereas I have this Next dress (arguably worth the 6-8 wait – at that snip of a price) and find it very easy to wear. And I have tried to be mindful that not everyone wants to waft around in a skimpy, spaghetti-strapped number. To be frank, I am likely to save this look for the beach or my back garden; for work or carousing around town with the children, I like my sundresses to offer a decent degree of coverage (for dresses with slim straps or off-the-shoulder, I wear this ) – which is why I love this dress (above – and now back in stock in most sizes). And I know many people love a good sleeve, so include some sleeved options.
Bonus: all but one are under £100 (and the new Pampelone collection is so beautiful that I can be forgiven swooning after it).
