Warming Winter recipes and your essential kitchen shopping list

We love the Cooking Them Healthy girls. Not only do they know all about nutrition and what immune-boosting foods we and our children should be eating, but they also create ridiculously delicious recipes that are easy to make, and perfect for all the family (you can read our interview with them here). As it’s now officially cold, Georgie has created an amazing one-pot chicken, rice and butternut squash recipe for us, and because I need all the help I can get when it comes to the kitchen, Cooking Them Healthy’s brilliant nutritionist Jo has written a list of her shopping essentials. Enjoy!…

Eat well, live well: delicious recipes from Nourish

Last week we featured an extract from Nourish, a wonderful new book written by Sadie Frost, Amber Rose and Holly Davidson (pictured above) focusing on wellbeing for the mind, body and soul. It’s all too easy to forget to look after yourself when you’re caught up in the busy whirl of life, so we’re all for stopping for a second, reading some good advice and taking a little better care of ourselves. Amber, whose cookbook Love, Bake, Nourish we featured last year (her Anzac biscuits are ridiculously good) has created a host of delicious and nutritious recipes for Nourish, three of which we are lucky enough to feature here. In a week when the weather is promising to be foul and the nights are drawing in, a little bit of nourishment is just what we need……

Recipes from The Art of Eating Well by Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley

We all want to eat well, right? The thing is it’s not always as easy as it should be. Short for time and short on inspiration, cooking can turn into a chore, meaning that you can gravitate towards easy old favourites that aren’t always the best (read healthiest) option. But, the good news is that there’s never been a better time to want to eat well. From Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop to Voguette Calgary Avaninso, there are plenty of health gurus out there, but the newest – and certainly among the most relatable – duo are sisters Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley aka Hemsley + Hemsley.…

Easy Easter for lazy girls

Easter is definitely a holiday I can get on board with. It involves chocolate, for a start. My own little bunny already has her basket at the ready and was keen to ascertain that the Easter Bunny knew she’d be at her grandparents for the Easter weekend. I’m not suggesting that you come over all Martha Stewart (I cannot even dream of  maintaining that level of domestic perfection), but there is definitely some fun to be had – especially with/for small people.…

How to…cook for children

One of the best discoveries I made last year was Cooking Them Healthy, a brilliant blog set up by three mothers (sisters Georgie and Minnie Soskin, and nutritionist Jo Saunders) providing inspirational recipes, nutritional advice and ideas on how to encourage your children to eat healthily. One of the things I love most (apart from the recipes which are really delicious) is their A-Z of Health focusing on specific ailments and the foods that can help alleviate them (which is probably just as useful for adults). With delicious recipes and invaluable information, it is my new must-read site when it comes to cooking for my boys……
