We Want to Live Here: A Beautiful Living Room Makeover

We are delighted to feature this amazing living room makeover, by the ultra-talented Laura Stephens. Firstly, the room is serious interiors porn (something we love) and, secondly, W&W played matchmaker! Honestly: Joanna (who lives her with her husband Tim, four-year-old Freddie and Lola, 10 months) discovered Laura when her work was featured on our site.…

The Good Life: what it’s really like to live your dream and move to Ibiza

Have you ever dreamed about leaving everything behind, upping sticks and embarking on a whole new life abroad? Well, ex-Elle journalist, author and co-founder of gorgeous jewellery label Circa Ibiza, Grace Saunders did just that, moving from London with her husband Michael and three children to a 300-year old finca in Ibiza. Life on the island is slower, simpler and sunnier than it was in London, but is it all just beaches and bbqs in the sunshine or is there a downside to life in paradise? Grace tells us all……

We want to live here: how to create the ultimate ‘me’ space

Whether you need time out from your kids, your flatmates, your partner or just the world around you, most people would love to have a super-stylish space to escape to in their own homes. Whether this is a quiet corner of your living room, your bathroom or your bedroom, a little hideaway to call your own is one of the greatest luxuries there is.  Interior designer Laura Stephens recently worked with a couple to create just that in their new loft extension in their South-East London home. “With three children, my clients were looking for more space and, rather than buying a larger house, they decided to do a loft extension running from the front to the very back of the house,” explains Laura. “This made total sense in terms of adding value to their property and making full use of their unusually deep London Terrace house. With spectacular views from the roof towards London taking in The Shard, The City and St Paul’s the conversion was a no-brainer.” And, boy, do we want one just like it….…

We want to live here: Emily Murray’s stylish Edinburgh home

There’s nothing more Natasha and I love than a snoop around someone’s beautiful home. Which is why we were thrilled when PR whizz and former journalist Emily Murray agreed to show us around the stunning house she shares with husband Euan and sons Oscar (5) and Zac (2) in Edinburgh’s picturesque Southside. I first met Emily several moons ago when we were both working at Brides magazine. We both gave up the taffeta and table plans and while I stayed put in London, Emily moved back to Edinburgh, changed careers and had two gorgeous children. Currently Editorial Director at Stripe Communications, Emily (who you can follow on twitter @emilycasan) describes her home as “city meets country, on acid. Euan and I lived in London for 12 years and I miss it, so Ive tried to bring a bit of the big smoke back to Edinburgh, while reflecting the almost rural setting of our Arts & Crafts house, tucked away behind Blackford Hill.” Want to see more? Come on then….…

We want to live here: Chloe Lonsdale’s beautiful London home

We love MiH Jeans. Not only is the cut of their clothes fantastic (I’ve been living in this shirt over Christmas and have my eye on the navy version), but the quality is wonderful and the style just the right mix of timeless and cool. Having started life as a denim label, the brand has evolved into a fully-fledged fashion line that has just launched (we think) their best collection yet. I particularly love this broderie top, these chambray culottes and these slim-fit tomboy jeans – oh and we are reliably informed that flares are BACK for spring/summer, meaning that their Marrakesh style will once again be the jeans to be seen in over the next few months. Unsurprisingly, the founder and creative director of the label, Chloe Lonsdale, not only has an eye for fashion, she’s also rather adept at interior design. Showcasing the same kind of effortless style as her designs for MiH, Chloe’s house in Notting Hill (which she shares with her husband Johan Quintus (COO of MiH) and their four children Finn (5), Rye (3), Arden (2) and Marlin (8 months) is just gorgeous. Read on for a sneak peek……

We want to live here: Emma Cannon’s gorgeous London home

Fertility expert Emma Cannon has been helping women conceive for over 20 years using a mix of acupuncture, Western medicine, good nutrition and lifestyle advice. “More and more of my patients were getting pregnant and I gained a reputation as ‘the Baby-Maker,” she explains. “I absolutely love this area of work – helping couples improve their health in order to conceive is very rewarding. Author of three books including The Baby-Making Bible, You & Your Bump and Total Fertility, she also runs a specialised clinic The Fertility Rooms in London’s Sloane Square – do make an appointment if you are in the ‘baby zone’ and are looking for advice. As part of her holistic approach to health, Emma has recently launched a range of teas called Cycles of Life. “I was frustrated about the amount of coffee people were drinking and I wanted to help them find a suitable alternative. My range is mostly herbal infusions so they are without caffeine, although I do have a beautiful green tea which does contain caffeine (not suitable during pregnancy) I wanted to source really high quality herbal infusions that were free from heavy metals and pesticides. A lot of the commercial teas…

We want to live here: Molly Mahon’s beautiful Sussex home

We all want our homes to reflect our personality. The degree to which we do it depends largely on our creativity and our ability to turn vague ideas into beautiful reality. Cue serious house envy

As I type, I am munching – nay, mainlining – mini eggs. Not only are they the best chocolate around (in my cheerfully cheap chocolate loving opinion), they are also the prettiest. Perhaps that is why I am so taken with this spectacularly gorgeous home, owned by Style Me Pretty founder Abby Larson and featured on the always-wonderful Domino (and head to Style Me Pretty for a room-by-room tour). I love that it’s beautiful but family-friendly; fits the old with the new (plenty of inherited pieces, children’s artwork and fabulous finds here);has plenty of cushionage (it should be a word) – and features mini egg colour a-plenty. I’m in love. This isn’t a ‘We Want to Live Here’ as such (although I really do), but it is too pretty not to share.…
