A letter to myself as a mama-to-be

What parenting advice would you give your pre-child self? It being half term in our world, this seems the right time to share this letter I wrote to myself as a mama-to-be. (Originally written for Alex & Alexa’s blog.)…

How to…be an awesome aunt by Rosie Jones of Roses and the Stars

"Aunts aren't gentlemen!" proclaimed P.G.Wodehouse. No, they're much more fun that that. Aunt to 11 children, ranging in age from 2 months - 19 years, Rosie Jones, who has previously worked for Bonpoint and Trotters, is an expert in Aunt Amazingness. Over the years, she's bought so many gifts, that she's a master of the art of Excellent Present and has now set up a new online boutique Roses and The Stars offering a great range of gifts for kids and their mothers (always good to be in with the mother....) So, other than being great with gifts, what else does it take to be an Awesome Aunt? Over to Rosie...…

20% off at Olivier Baby & Kids and a very special pop-up featuring OBK and Edit 58

Olivier Baby & Kids is one of our favourite childrenswear brands. Not only because it's a small British business dreamed up by two sisters, but also because the designs manage to straddle that tricky divide of being contemporary yet vintage and child-appropriate. The cashmere is delicious (and durable) - just check out the super-cool hoodies and beautiful heart-on-the-back cardis, whilst the babywear is so gorgeous it'll make you broody for another (just kidding, just kidding, I am OUT of that game). And so, because we love them (and you) we have an exclusive 20% discount on all their a/w collection as well as some news on an exciting pop-up happening next week....…

How to create the perfect child’s room by Jo Tutchener Sharp of Scamp & Dude

Jo Tutchener Sharp is one impressive woman. Not only is she the founder and former MD of mega agency Beauty Seen PR and the founder of the BRITs Spa, she is also behind the brilliant kids clothing and interiors brand Scamp & Dude. Launching next month online and in Liberty, Scamp & Dude is a huge project for Jo, who hopes it is going to help children whose parents are seriously ill or have died, and dreamed up the idea when she herself was in hospital. We can't wait for Scamp & Dude to launch, particularly because Jo has seriously good taste. When I first saw pictures of her sons' rooms on Instagram (@jotutchenersharp and @scampanddude) I instantly fell in love and wanted to know exactly how she put them together. From her Instagram-sourced prints to brilliant toy storage ideas, this is how she did it....…

Are you a fun parent?

By 'fun' we don't mean channelling Regina George's mother in Mean Girls, oh no. We're not talking dressing like you're 'down with the kids', getting them drunk on margaritas aged 12 or discussing the merits of Taylor Swift's love life like you're an actual OMG LOL teen (Ok that last one is sort-of allowed as who isn't intrigued by the are they for real? cultural phenomena of Hiddleswift?) What we mean is rather than stressing about the mess/homework/school grades, actually having fun With Your Children. As yes, it is ok to do that too....…
