Florals. For Spring. Yes, we’re going there…

I know, I know. In the words of Miranda Priestly, The Devil Wears Prada’s titular devil: florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking. But, passing Zara the other day, I stopped short. There was a line-up of floral skirts which made my heart beat just a little bit faster.

They were just so pretty. So fresh. So happy. So the opposite of the black jeans I was wearing. (This is one of them, above.) It was exactly what I wanted to be wearing (temperatures notwithstanding). I have a J.Crew skirt I bought when pregnant with my son (with crossed fingers that it would fit, post-babe) which I plan to dig out (the Boden one below is similar). I’ve recently rediscovered the joy of a great skirt (as seen on Instagram – with thanks to the six-year-old photographer) and will be wearing my florals with pride. No pressure, though. You can dip a toe in – try this lovely pouch or fling a cushion on your bed.
