Why hair accessories are big for Spring

Want to know the easiest, most inexpensive way to update your look for spring? Well if you want to get ahead, it’s time to think about your head….or hair to be more exact. My hair has never been my crowning glory, but with the trend for beautiful hair accessories in full swing, it’s about to look a whole lot better.

Hairclips

Beautiful hairclips are everywhere this spring and they are the easiest way to make you look modern and pretty at the same time. Instead of grabbing that old hairband, reach for an embellished hairclip and you’ll instantly look very 2019. It’s also a genius way of turning a bad hair day into a good one. Maisons Archives stock a beautiful range of statement clips at a great price including faux peal barettes and these ‘Love’ diamante clips. Also try Crown & Glory for a great range of hair accessories such as these star clips and TLM Edit for some great clips including this multi-coloured LOVE one (great for summer holidays and parties). Anthropologie have a great range of hair clips and accessories from simple pearl bobby pins to these faux pearl clips. I also can’t help but mention these pearl clips I stock at TAE by cult Danish brand Black Colour. Just gorgeous!

Headbands

What are your thoughts on headbands? If you’d asked me a year ago I’d say no way! Too many 80s sloane ranger connotations, but seeing the fashion pack wear them with such aplomb has converted me. Prada sent them out on the s/s 19 catwalk (they’re so Prada, I’m surprised they don’t do them every season) and everyone from the FROW to stylish celebs have been seen in them. Headbands are arguably the biggest hair trend of 2019 and hide a whole host of sins. If you’re thinking of trying them, then how about this rather chic satin one from Anthropologie (who have a host of lovely ones)? Also try ASOS and Oliver Bonas for an inexpensive take on the trend (I particularly like this green jacquard one pictured below). Unsurprisingly, ETSY has a ton of great small brands making headbands. BlackCurrantPop does a wonderful range of accessories including this satin animal print headband, which is just what the style doctor ordered.

I’ve recently bought a few headbands from Penelope C Henderson on Instagram – she has a really good selection and is a new business. Also some really gorgeous earrings – this isn’t an ad, by the way, just sharing my find! It’s the best (and most diverse) selection of headbands I’ve come across.
