Welcome to 2016. I, for one, have high hopes for this year. Some of them, I confess, sartorial. These trends, for starters – and there’s no need to wait for Spring to wear them.
Okay, I’m not suggesting you go full-tilt Gucci [as above] but think of this as the next generation of the Victoriana trend – easy to fall in love with, right? I adore this top (which has the benefit of also being pink – two trends in one). This jumper is both ruffled and cosy. This blouse is on sale – and very lovely it is, too. Or head to H&M for you fix – try this, this or this.
Labels to love
If 2015 was the year we discovered Finery (how great is this dress?) and Atterley (um, where to start with their new collection? This classic polo neck (the knitwear range is amazing – at a great price point)? This floral dress, which I covet (along with this one)? This fabulously-sleeved jumpsuit? Really, Atterley warrants it’s own post.) Then this year we will be shopping like French girls – as Sezane now ships to the UK.
Refreshing, no? I love this mustard midi skirt from Topshop, where you’ll also find this natty pinstriped number. Urban Outfitters offer these black trousers in the sale, and these from Gap are a bargain and would work well for Spring. Atterley (yep, them again) have a more modestly waisted pant if this is all a bit too paperbag-tastic for you.
Upgrade your white shirt
Ginormous bows. Asymmetric hems. Belted. It’s official, the white shirt has just become considerably more interesting. The Outnet has some excellent options. H&M has a brilliant blouse with a tie waist. This obi band blouse from Asos is also pretty fabulous.
