I was first introduced to hush by my friend Lynda, a fashion stylist and one of the chic-est girls I know. This week, whilst doing my day job (yes, it pretty much rocks, thank you very much), I met the founder of hush, Mandy. A charming, serene antipodean, she is totally the kind of girl I can imagine hanging out with: she also has that effortless insouciant elegance I hanker after (and fear I rarely achieve). She showed me a sneak preview of the new hush collection (which she designs herself; it’s come a looooong way from the days when hush was known for pjs (which are, incidentally, still some of the best around) – and it is what your summer ought to be made of: sorbet shades, easy-to-wear, relaxed shapes, go-with-anything basics.
From r to l: boxy jumper in banana, £49.50; Catherine dress, £45; linen v-neck jumper in rhubarb, £49.50 and Chloe shorts, £40
My fingers are ITCHING to click on the Catherine dress (have you worked out yet that I have an unhealthy obsession with stripes. I counted the number of Breton-striped items in my wardrobe the other day, and promptly forgot or I would have felt obliged to institute a cull).
Sandals, £47.50; star print scarf, £35; two-tone sloppy joe dress, £45
Those sandals would turn tanned feet into objects of beauty.
Can’t you just see yourself wearing this, drifting around town/at a lazy weekend lunch/in the garden/in a little French/Italian/Spanish (honestly, who’s fussy when it’s this fruz outside) square, coffee/glass of wine (hey, no judgement here) in hand?
