Last week Alex and I had the pleasure of dropping into Hush’s Spring/Summer preview – always one of our favourites. It’s full of treats (we’ll give you the heads-up on our picks when the full collection drops soon), but the pre-collection (definitely A Thing) is available now – and who are we to deny you the chance to do a wardrobe refresh?
The hero piece has to be the leather jacket in ballet slipper pink. Yes, this is an investment buy, but it’s a beauty (also chuck it over anything. Dresses, jeans, denim cut-offs…). It’s a work of art. And if you’re after a denim jacket, then check out this 0ne for denim with a twist.
Also in that heavenly blush shade is this summer cashmere jumper (£125). I have last year’s version and it’s a treat. Again, one of those pieces which will take you through the season. This is the colour for this Spring.
I am loving all the slogan sweats which are around at the moment (did you see the one I found in Whistles over on Instagram?) If you’re were a fan of Happy Days – and all the life-was-so-much-simpler-then nostalgia it evokes – you’ll love the Joanie sweat top (£50). Although I am ordering the lightning bolt (£50) because it’ll dress up and down brilliantly (I love a sweatshirt with heels) and, well, because I love it. (If you like the look of it, then there’s a tee, too.)
Whilst we’re here, let’s discuss the fabulousness of the leopard shoes (£170).
We are fully signed-up converts to the joy of the jumpsuit – this one (£85) is rather like a navy one I bought last year and find hugely useful. Wear with polo neck now, swap for pretty lace blouse, then wear it with a (fake) tan when summer arrives.
These trousers would be the gift that kept on giving. So flattering and so easy (an elasticated waist! O frabjous day). For something more structured, how about a classic black crop(£75)/ Very Audrey Hepburn
If it’s stripes you want (and let’s face it, when do we not want stripes), then Alex fell for the Brooke jumper (£79), which will – heads up – be available in a different colourway later in the season.
We’ll finish with a shot of the prettiest print. The Oriental silk shirt (£100). Just. So. Pretty. I couldn’t resist.
