It’s that time of year again…..

frosty2Oh, how we’ve fought it. We’ve tried our hardest (I promise), but we just couldn’t avoid the fact that Christmas is (gulp) on the horizon. Although, please don’t adjust your sets. We’re not about to go all Jingle Bells on you just yet. Think of this as a temporary blip to prod you into being organised and start you thinking about Christmas cards. I always leave it too late, especially when it comes to sending cards to friends who live abroad. But this year, it will be different. It will. I think. I hope. Maybe? At least with cards as pretty as these it won’t be too much of a chore writing them…

Make your own

If you have the time, the patience and the necessary dose of creativity, then making your own cards is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. If you aren’t quite up to doing it all from scratch, then these kits are a brilliant idea for doing with your kids. You can also find a whole host of sparkly Christmas bits (snowflakes, glittery reindeers, snowmen – you name it, they’ve got it), blank cards and ribbon at the always-reliable John Lewis.

While I’m pretty old-school about displaying cards (basically on any spare bit of surface I can find), there are more creative ways to do it…

How about a Christmas card tree?

Or another Christmas card tree?

Or frame them? This would work just as well with a collage of photos..
