I had the lovely and very stylish Lynda ’round for a cosy kitchen supper last night. And she told me about two websites which are an absolute MUST if you are redecorating, revamping, buying a new house which needs a total overhaul or even if, like me, you just love scouring interiors websites, books and magazines because you just love tweaking your home to make it more, well, your home.
Desire to Inspire is the lovechild of two friends, Kim and Jo, who live oceans apart (that sounds like opening of a maudlin love song) – who set up the site with the simple aim of bringing us (lucky us) the best and most inspiring design to be found. They even have a ‘Pets on Furniture day’. Oh yes. Flatzilla’s sausage dog, Holly, needs to make an appearance. Here’s some tasters (the idiom is international and contemporary).
Houzz has everything – and I do mean everything – you might ever need. Search gazillions of products, before and afters, makeovers, or by a room in the house. And swoon. And then create your very own online ‘Ideabook’. (A dear friend of mine is currently house-hunting – upgrading from a flat to a proper grown-up house – I think she would LOVE this concept. It suits her organised nature!) So, if you are reading about someone’s ah-may-zing house, you can click on the picture to read more about where this cushion is from, or that kitchen tile – and then click the links to buy, GENIUS. Here’s a tiny taster from a flat which caught my eye. (I have pinned it to my Ideabook – yes I have joined already). It’s a flat owned by The Everygirl
