We’re completely thrilled to feature the gorgeous Anneli Willis from What I Bought Today as today’s My Uniform. I met her at a bloggers’ lunch the other week – and she was super stylish, smart and sweet. She also cheerfully admitted to a Zara addiction (my kind of girl) and is a fellow West London girl. I just knew she was just the perfect candidate for My Uniform: yes, she’s ultra stylish, but not in a head-to-toe in designer fashion: what she has is a great eye for a good piece. You’ll totally want to steal her style.
She also has the most addictive blog and great taste. You’re probably already a fan, but if not, click here immediately and prepare to become obsessed. (Completely obsessed already? Did you know you can shop her wardrobe?) You can also follow Anneli and her impeccable taste on Twitter and Instagram @AnneliWillis and on Pinterest.
What are you favourite high street destinations/designer labels?
Zara, Whistles, Sandro, H&M, Gap, & Other Stories and COS are my go-to labels on the high street. Zara do the best linen t-shirts and great blouses; Whistles for statement sweats and prints; Sandro for blazers and dresses; H&M and Gap for good basics; & Other Stories for shoes and silk; COS for knits and shirts.
Cos jumper, Zara trousers, LK Bennett heels
I love Theory, Joseph, Stella McCartney and Isabel Marant for designer labels: Theory for the most amazing blazers and classic staple pieces, Joseph for amazing leather, knits and tailoring, Stella for just about everything (!) and Isabel Marant for boho chic: I adore the prints, leather pants and structured jackets.
Has your style evolved over the years?
Most definitely! It´s changed a lot depending on whichever country Ive lived in; from clean lines in Scandinavia, casual surf chic living in Australia, bohemian chic in Barcelona, to a good combination of all those things now living in London. I am a lot more confident with my style as I’ve got older, knowing more what suits me and my body.
What’s your ‘night out’ uniform? What makes you feel instantly dressed up?
I love wearing either skinny black leather pants or a fitted mini skirt, both together with a chic silk shirt and a blazer to make the look more smart and elegant.

What about bags: are you faithful to a few or do you rotate regularly?
I am pretty faithful to all my bags, and tend to rotate a bag each week to share the love! Favourites are all my YSL bags, Balenciaga and my orange tweed Mulberry bag (it´s over the top, but the ultimate statement bag).

Do you have a shopping strategy?
1. Invest in timeless pieces – I just bought a beautiful black double-breasted silk blazer from Theory.
2. Invest in good basics – I just picked up a load of neutral linen t-shirts from Zara on sale.
3. Invest in good quality materials such as leather, in neutral colour and style.
What will you be buying/investing in for A/W?
More silk shirts in prints and colours; some fitted knitted jumpers; and these beautiful suede leather boots…
What are your beauty must-haves?
Where do you shop for your home?
That´s a real mixture. I mainly shop from John Lewis, Zara Home, M&S, IKEA, Dwell, HAY and The White Company. I also love sourcing from markets, eBay and Gumtree – I love finding pieces with real history!
You recently got married (hurrah!) what did you wear, please?!
The dress was my mothers creation which I co-designed with her (pictures coming on my blog now!) and shoes from Jimmy Choo.
Gorgeous! Thank you so much Anneli.
