I know it’s Sale Season. I know it’s hot (make that hot, hot, hot), but when the Boden catalogue arrived this morning, there were quite a few new pieces that caught my eye. Admittedly they are clothes more for cooler summer days and warm autumns, but pieces so lovely, I’m betting they’ll sell out fast. Here’s what I have my eye on….
The above dress is so me, it should’ve been called ‘Alex’. I’m not a fan of tight clothes (I would’ve been a rubbish Love Islander) and this loose-fitting dress hangs beautifully. The double hem at the bottom is a nice touch. Wear now (in the evening, it’s far too hot for day!) with sandals, and in autumn with trainers and then boots. It has, I think, quite a Hush feel, which is a very good thing. Another very good thing (and actually from Hush) is this star print midi dress. Navy with shimmery silver stars, it’s another easy, throw-on dress that I would wear time and time again.
Back to Boden and….this blossom print dress is also very pretty and a good one to dress up or down. Again, it has long sleeves, so not suitable for a heatwave, but definitely one to keep your eye on for later in the year. This shirt dress would be great for work or if you are a smart dresser – I love the red roll ups on the sleeves. This ruffle dress (below) is one you can wear now. The mixed print elevates it from pretty to pretty special and this would be a great little number for a hot dinner date or even a wedding. Whilst back at Hush, this black dress with lace cut outs is a cool maxi that is made for hot summer nights.
I’m a big fan of statement sleeves, so the shirt (pictured at the top) with bell sleeves and mixed prints was always going to catch my eye. I’d wear with short shorts now and dark indigo denim in the autumn. Also available in colour-of-the-year yellow. The shirt above is also a keeper. Everyone needs a white shirt, right? Well this one ticks the boxes with it’s pretty collar and stunning Broderie cuffs. It’d also look fab with a thin knit layered on top. I think it’s a keeper. On the subject of Broderie, this top – available in navy or white – is just divine. So pretty and so wearable, are you tempted?
While I can’t actually remember the last time I needed a jumper (I know!!! I can’t believe it either!) I don’t think we can miss them out of the conversation, especially when they are as covetable as the one above. Classic, but with a twist, this 50% wool, 50% cotton jumper is a real fling-on and go option. A great addition to your autumn wardrobe. I also love this one – it’s the sleeves again – and the mustard that does it for me (although also in other colours)
Isn’t the suit above fabulous? I can’t think of anywhere I’d wear it, but if I was a big business honcho or went to smart lunches, I definitely would buy and wear it as above. As is, I am tempted by the culottes, although mine would be dressed down with trainers or heels and a tee, the cut looks fantastic.
