Yes, it is still August and you are, quite probably, still wearing shorts – even if it’s freezing as it’s summer damn it – but, you *may* have a shopping itch to scratch. The shops have resembled jumble sales since July, so it’s a relief to finally have some delicious new designs to drool over, and this new collection from Hush is one that we are most definitely on board with. Buy now, and let’s face it, probably wear now, and wear for months to come. What’s not to (cue picture above) love?
Is it odd to be talking about knitwear in August? NO! Maybe if you live in Dubai, but here, in good old Blighty, obviously not. Which is good, because all I want to do right now is talk about this jumper above. I ADORE this Love jumper – the oversized fit, the font, the colourway, so much so that I’ve ordered the charcoal version, but also quite fancy the pinky-red, which would cheer up any grey day. I plan to wear over leather leggings or jeans all winter. BTW – apparently this is limited edition, so snap one up now if you don’t want to miss out (it also comes in light pink). If it’s all a bit big and shouty for you, then how about the new season version of what is becoming a classic (below) – I really like the new red and grey colour way (also comes in navy). Dressed up with statement earrings and red lipstick, this ruffle jumper could be a great party outfit come December (did I really just say December?!) Then there are a host of great every day jumpers. This Breton has Natasha’s name all over it, whilst this yellow jumper is right on trend for autumn.
The statement sleeve trend is still going strong for autumn/winter and this pattern print is just gorgeous. I know that Natasha has her eye on the pink one. Looking for something you can wear now? How about this French slogan t-shirt? A little bit rock-chick, it’s a perfect every day item. If you like French slogans, then how about this C’est Si Bon sweatshirt? Or this Amour sweatshirt? This silk cami would look really great under a blazer.
Hush are good at dresses. The kind of ones that you want to wear every day (I keep saying it, but all these choices are really good everyday items and therefore offer great value per wear). I really like this one – it’s just my thing – slightly loose, a great length and just so easy. And of course, I love the navy star print! I also have my eye on this maxi – full confession, I suspect it may be too long for me (I’m 5’4) but I’m very tempted to try as it is gaw-gus and would look great with boots. Finally, at £49 this dress is great value and is another one – that you guessed it – you could wear day, after day, after day…..
And finally, a quick mention for trousers! Athleisure is still going strong – and that’s great for me who was wearing jogging bottoms long before they were cool (so on trend ahem). This metallic stripe pair makes them a little smarter. Love how they’ve styled them rolled up. And, if we’re talking about stripes, these are also good – smarter and easily dressed up for work.
