No-brainer off-duty mum look

953e2055895a2bedfc59723ea9d02254We get a lot of emails from stay at home mums who still want to look super-stylish. And we can never resist an SOS. I promise we’ll dedicate a post to you, but in the meantime, how about this little end-of-the-sales bargain…?

I’m thinking ahead  to cooler days here. And I’m thinking about giving a nod to fashion without having to think about it; as I suspect with a three-year-old starting pre-school (8.45am start – eek!) and a new baby, time is going to be my long-lost friend for a while. (Mind you, Alex has one starting school and one starting nursery, so I can but bow down before her.)

You know a striped top is a classic no-brainer, right? Well, zhush it up, people, with this bargain from Chinti & Parker. I bought a grey version in the Net-a-Porter sale which I plan to throw on over jeans during maternity leave. (Yep, still pregnant. Yep, definitely feeling ready not to be. 34.5 weeks and counting, baby wriggling madly as I type. What was I THINKING having a final trimester during a heatwave, eh? Respectful nod here to any other pregnant ladies, including Jo Tutchenor-Sharp of Beauty Seen PR who is having her second as I have mine!)

Anyway, a mama uniform. With style kudos….

Heart pocket striped tee- now £51 (was £85), Chinti & Parker; Deconstructed sexy boyfriend jeans, £44.95, Gap

Upgrade your jeans from skinnies to something slightly looser-fitting (try hush, Topshop and Gap). I like the idea of wearing this with something bright or clashing on my feet.

Ah I love that pic and have it on my pinterest board too. I even went so far as to do a mock up of it as it is a pretty cool look when all is said and done!
