Object of Lust: The Decorative Jacket

Rosie_Huntington_Whiteley-34Ever since I saw this shoot of Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s amazing home on The Coveteur, and this shot [above] in particular, I’ve been slightly obsessed with finding a jacket like Rosie’s to throw on over jeans and a perfectly simple t-shirt. (Note: I am under no illusion that this will make me look anything like Rosie. I lack the height, curves, hair and pillow lips – just for starters.) I am still rueful about not investing in the quilted Isabel Marant jacket from last season, but I think I might just have found some alternatives (that don’t quite cost the earth. Because decorative doesn’t always come cheap. Just ask Rosie.

I bought the Monsoon jacket yesterday (got 10% for slight thread damage, but hardly visible), and it’s the best thing ever. The quilted fabric is nice and cool, but also offers a bit of warmth from the wind etc. I wore it during the day with a pair of blue jeans, brown boots and a red & white vest. Then on the night over a plain black dress and ankle boots. I got so many compliments!
