Objects of lust: best of the blues

Dyed thread tablecloth, £39.99, Zara Home

Having spent our Easter weekends in the countryside/by the sea, we have become accustomed to seeing blazes of blue: Forget-me-nots in the garden, bluebells in the woods, sparkling sea at West Wittering (one of our number went in – gradually divesting herself of encumbering garments). Here’s a little taster of our weekends – and the best of blue.

I love, love this MIH blouse – great colour, great cut – and those gorgeous sleeves.

The Gainsbourg Shirt in Flower Blue, now £62, MIH at Asos

My little girl has been very keen to have a ‘pretty jacket like Mummy’s’. Since the sun has shone, I’ve been teaming tweedy (like this one) or Isabel Marant-esque jackets – I now have my eye on this one – with my Topshop maternity jeans. (On the subject of blue,  I heartily recommend these as the colour is so very Spring-like.  This jacket also channels a bit of IM, would do the job perfectly – and it’s on sale.

II cannot wait to see this exhibition (til 17th September at the Tate Modern); it should be on everyone’s must list. (Come back late this week for an expert guide to introducing your children to art).
