If there’s one good thing about autumn, it’s boots. After a long summer of flip flop and sandal wearing, it is nice to once again think about pulling on a boot. Whether you’re into biker boots, chelsea boots, heeled boots or this a/w’s favourite – long boots, it really is the season to indulge. Here’s our pick of the best..
The Biker Boot
I love a biker boot. They’re just so easy to wear. While I can’t stretch to the Saint Laurent ones pictured above on Cara D. I am on the hunt for a new pair. While black is the classic wear-with-everything colour, I do love a dark brown (the bashed up the better). And tip – if you have small feet, head to the children’s department at Russell & Bromley where they often have gorgeous boots for a fraction of the ‘adult’ price.
Low – heeled Boots
Ever since Acne strutted on to the scene with their pistol boots, everyone has gone crazy for heeled ankle boots. Initially, I thought they were a bit ‘school-run-mum’, but like most things fashionable, once I got my eye in, I loved them. And, so last year I tried the M&S version of Acne pistols (M&S do brilliant shoes) and am now sold on the chunky, low-heeled boot for when you need a bit of a lift in the morning. Saying that, I do love a bit of embellishment on a boot and have been in love with Russell & Bromley’s embellished Jagger boots for ages, although at £395, I just can’t justify the spend. However, these New Look boots are really quite a good and affordable alternative….
For the last few years they’ve been relegated to the unfashionable sloane zone, but this season long boots are back with a vengeance. Wear with a midi skirt for ultimate fashion props or just do a Moss and pull over jeans for day-to-day wear.
