Shopping the (end of the) sales….

The sales have been in swing for well over a month now and despite the shops looking like a very disorganised jumble sale, online is still looking peachy with some amazing bargains still to be had. I know that most of us are probably reigning in our summer sartorial spending, keeping pennies back for autumnal purchases, so with that in mind, I’ve only picked pieces that’ll work just as well in autumn as they do now OR summer bargains so splendifirous, you simply have to snap them up….

A statement shirt is catnip to me. I love a pattern, specifically a show-stopping pattern, as there are few better ways to dress up a pair of jeans. I bought an animal print shirt by Samsoe Samsoe in the sales last winter and always get complements every time I wear it. This one by Damsel looks a great fit and is available in a plain leopard or pink print. This black and white polka dot shirt by Nougat has a frilled collar and would look great on its own or layered under a jumper come autumn/winter. I adore Mercy Delta’s silk shirts and have loved this tiger one (below) from afar for some time. It’s now in the sale, and whilst not cheap, is something print-lovers will love forever. I’m also slightly loathe to tell you about this lightning bolt shirt, which I really want and would’ve bought except that I’ve just snapped up this ruffle-sleeved one from Lily & Lionel, and is now half-price. And, if you’re size 12 get thee to 24 Sevres now, where you can pick up a silk Stella McCartney shirt for £135.20 (£169 plus another 20% off that with LAST20) – down from £595.

On the boho front, this Dodo Bar Or top is half price at £92 on My Theresa. But, if a white tops are your ‘thing’, then this from Hush is just lovely – the sleeves are beautiful – and this lace swing shirt from Me + Em is also beautiful. I have a similar version from last year and the fit is perfect. Finally, these iconic Provence tees from cult brand FWP are now £25, the cut is amazing and they look just as good on their own as they do under a blazer or jacket (use MANICMONDAY for an extra 15% discount).

I have been wearing this yellow sundress by MIH all summer. Whilst you may not be wearing a sundress in autumn, it is SUCH an amazing dress, I would be snapping it up in the sale if I didn’t already own it. And, a note about sizing – on ASOS (the only place I can find it available) they say xs is 6-8 – but this is the size that I have and it’s perfect! Suitable for a 10 I’d say as it’s a roomy dress. I also like the look of this one from Anthropologie, which has thick straps, pockets and is a midi length. This embroidered maxi (also from Anthropologie) is still pretty expensive, but also pretty amazing if you like the haute hippie look. If you’re looking for a little black party dress, then this could be a great buy from Whistles. Now £65 (down from £149). Finally, how gorgeous is this swing dress by Me + Em, available in two colourways (khaki with a pink back or hot pink with an orange back) I LOVE it and am seriously tempted to snap it up. The khaki version is now £74 (down from £149).

‘Love saves the day’ is such a cute logo and this jumper by Hush has a very Bella Freud feel about it. It’s now £45 (down from £75). Speaking of Bella, there is a sale over on her site, with some sizes and designs still in stock. This star jumper is £85 (down from £295). If you love logo knits, then you’ll also like this C’est La Vie sweatshirt by Whistles, which is now £59, although I prefer this wool sweater by Maison LaBiche, which is £48 on 24Sevres AND with a 20% discount on top with the code LAST20. It’s also a good time to pick up some discounted cashmere. Heatwaves aren’t conducive to cashmere sales, so buy now and feel smug in autumn. This slouchy merino cashmere black and cream jumper from Me & Em is £74 and comes with a handy detachable snood. This 100% cashmere swallow-back jumper from Cove is also on sale at TAE for £156.  While this 100% cashmere jumper is just £76.
