With two small copywriting projects and an end-of-year shop stocktake/tax admin looming, there was only one thing to do…..ignore it all and browse the Hush mid-season sale. Which, if you’re wondering, is really rather good….
Retail is having a hard year, hence the abundance of mid-season sales around at the moment. It doesn’t mean that brands like Hush and La Redoute have produced a collection of duds, what it means is that perhaps they went too early on items like cropped jumpsuits, which require good weather and sunshine to make people buy. But with a warmer forecast on the horizon and summer in the not-too-distant future, this is good news for us, as one day, hopefully soon, that cropped jumpsuit will be exactly what we want to wear….
What I have my eye on….
Surprise, surprise it’s a cropped jumpsuit! Available in pink, tiger pattern or black (obviously the most practical and my favourite), this jumpsuit is such a great buy. So versatile you can wear it in the day with sliders or these sandals, and at night with heels. I think it’s in the sale as the weather just hasn’t been cropped jumpsuit ready, but this has summer written all over it. Now £60 (was £89).
I was surprised to see this Liv midi dress in the sale. A relaxed fit (just my style) with a midnight/silver print, it would look lovely with trainers or sandals. The perfect everyday dress it’s now £70 (down from £99). This is also a really sweet dress. Slightly shorter and just £35 (down from £65) it would look super-cute with trainers and tanned legs.
This is another great every day buy. Shirts are a wardrobe staple and this looks so good with jeans. It’s a long length, so you can wear tucked in or out and is now £45 (down from £65). This white top (with excellent sleeves) is perfect for summer. Now £35 (down from £65) it would go with practically anything. Also check out this Mediterranean blue floral Tabitha top. With 3/4 length sleeves, it’s really pretty and at £40 another good buy. Wear with shorts, a pencil skirt or jeans.
Both Natasha and I love a midi skirt. Although who doesn’t?! In the winter wear with boots and a jumper tucked it, in the summer wear trainers or sandals and a tee. This floral skirt is beautiful and whilst summery in style, it’ll also work well next autumn. Now £55 (was £79).The jumper it’s pictured with is also on sale. Don’t be scared of pink. I’m a tomboy, so it’s not my automatic colour, but it’s a very flattering hue and if you team it with a leather skirt and ankle boots you can instantly toughen it up. This yellow maxi is another good buy. Great for holidays or when the sun shines, it’s a colour that can’t help but make you happy. And for an all-time classic, how about this chambray number? So easy to wear, it’s summer in a skirt. Not on sale, but so pretty I had to mention it, is the feather print Beatrix skirt (pictured below). I think it looks just about perfect with a tee and a denim jacket.
