Whether you like to dive in like Tom Daley or prefer to swerve them completely, you can’t escape the fact that The Sales are here. Whilst many of you might have dipped your shopping toes into the sartorial waters back on Boxing Day (or before Christmas in fact), there are still great buys to be found – and buys that will carry you happily through this winter and into next season. Here’s what we have our eye on…Tops and Jumpers
A statement blouse is the easiest way to turn an every day outfit into something special. This silk blouse by fashionista favourite Ganni is sooo pretty – I’m a sucker for interesting sleeves – and down in the sale from a hefty £240 to £96. If you’re looking for ‘wow’ factor, how about this lace tulle blouse by Needle & Thread (now £74)? Just gorgeous. I’m also tempted by this all black ruffled one – all kinds of gothic glamour. The devil is in the detail and this shirt by Me + Em would be a gorgeous addition to your wardrobe. The collar is made for layering and would look fab under a jumper in the winter, whilst the pretty dotted front, pleated detailing and mother of pearl buttons will make it quietly make a statement when worn on its own. I also love this white lace shirt, this boho shirt, this red top (pictured above) and this rather fab gingham shirt, which I can imagine Natasha wearing beautifully. I am desperately trying to resist the dark navy top pictured above the piece, but it is just soooo beautiful…. If you’re off on holiday this summer, then do check out this off the shoulder top, which is utterly exquisite and has a Dodo bar Or feel about it. Although on the subject of Dodo, there are mediums left in this incredible top, which I’m very tempted to snap up and buy! If you’d like the dress version hop on over to 24 Sevres, where they have smalls for £142 (down from £355). With another 3-4 months of winter stretching out in front of us, it’s definitely time to be snapping up a statement jumper and this one by Hayley Menzies is GAW-JUS. With tasselled sleeves and stripes, it’s absolutely stunning and a piece you’ll wear season after season. And down to half-price, this mohair jumper by cult brand Wyse is another great buy. Classic with a touch of sparkle, it’s perfect for grey winter days. These shooting star cashmere cotton sweaters by Cove are also fabulous and at £49 (down from an original £120), a great price.
Dresses and Skirts
Natasha and I are both huge fans of the midi dress or skirt. This exquisite Baum und pferdgarten dress is now £109 (down from £279) and is a real statement piece. This beautiful green number can be worn year-round, which also makes it a Great Sale Buy. Wear now with tights and boots, maybe even a jumper over the top. In Spring swap the tights and boots for trainers, whilst in summer pair it with trainers or sandals, or even heels for a party and it will look fantastic. This dress is another winner. Don’t be scared of the red, Natasha has it and looks amazing in it. BA&SH is one of my favourite brands. In a similar vein to Maje and Sandro, it offers French chic at a haute high-street price. The blouses I previously mentioned are to die for, whilst this dress is exquisite and 30% off in the sale, whilst this one is half-price and an absolute dream – although I fear it would be too long for a shortie like me. Be warned – head to the BA&SH site and you might be doomed….. I also love this skirt, which I happen to have. It’s such a lush, rich fabric and colour and swishes like a dream.
I have and love these gorgeous wide-legged trousers from Hush. Leopard print is here to stay (it really is) and they are a great take on the trend. Where now with a big chunky jumper and boots, and in the summer with a cami or a tee. A great buy. Me + Em are a brand worth investing in. The quality is fantastic as is the design. Pioneers of the athleisure movement, their side stripe trousers are modern classics. The khaki version is now in the sale and a steal at £56 (down from £189). The double stripe joggers are also fab (I have them in green) and are the perfect weekend wear.
I’m a big fan of Boden shoes. They’re really well made and the details is just the right side of quirky. These velvet slip ons look great with slim trousers and are now from £44 (down from £110). I can also vouch for these yellow flats, which I have, love and look particularly amazing with jeans. You won’t be wearing them for a while, but it’d be worth picking up these Soludos espadrilles if you are the right size. So chic and half price, they’re summer in a shoe. Finally, these slouchy boots by Hush aren’t cheap, but they are amazing, and surprisingly easy to walk in. With £79 off in the sale, they might just be worth investing in.
We will keep on adding finds as we ‘find’ them! Do let us know if you’ve seen any great sales we should investigate!
