It’s sale season and we’ve been busy trawling the web, so you don’t have to. Today’s post is looking at the best from Whistles (which recently we’ve fallen back in love with) and Stories, which is one of those shops that does really good ‘where did you get that?’ items. Slightly quirkier than your usual high-street offering, the quality also tends to be better. Both Natasha and I always make a beeline for the Regent Street store whenever we are in town. Thankfully, you don’t have to be in town to shop there as with the magic of Ye Old Internete, you can shop the sale online! Whilst I can’t say it’s the best (WAY too much stuff to scroll through and lots not on there) – there are still some great bargains to be had….
Stories are the Queen of dresses. Particularly the midi dress (which can end up as a maxi if you are short like Team W&W – in that case, do as Natasha cleverly does and take up the hem – it’s worth the effort/money). The dress above is sitting in my shopping cart as I think it would be amazing for autumn with boots. It has an open back, but you could always wear a vest top underneath. (now £63, just over 1/2 price) I’m a sucker for pockets and this dress could be great. It’s probably a little long unless you are Amazonian, but if you lop a few inches off, it might be wonderful. Now £33, the price is good too. I also like this green and white maxi dress, which would look great on holiday (£48).
Over at Whistles, I love this linen dress (below) and would wear exactly as in the picture. And, this is the dress that Natasha wore to her birthday party. SUCH a gorgeous dress and perfect for special occasions like big birthdays, christenings, weddings or fabulous parties! This dress is also very pretty and I can imagine wearing it out to dinner – the detailing gives it an extra ‘something’. For a night out on holiday/wedding/hot day-smart lunch type situation, then this dress gets all the heart-eyed emojis.
Isn’t this a lovely top (above)? The cuffs are stunning. This is a great go-anywhere, dress up/dress down white top with a little frilled twist (now £23) – as is this – the frill collar would look great under a thin-knit sweater. I wouldn’t style it as they’ve done, but this denim frill shirt is gorgeous and will take you from now into autumn (now £39). This floral sweater is bright, but would look great with jeans – such a cheerful pattern!
At Whistles, I think this is lovely – I don’t do bardot tops as my shoulders look weird, but I love them on other people. I also don’t tend to do purple, but I could change my mind for this top – the pattern and cut are lovely.
Some of the best items have sold out already, BUT don’t panic as you can still find some sizes for some items elsewhere. Love the jumpsuit above? Are you a size 8? Then perfect – head to the House of Fraser site pronto. There are also some sizes left of this gorgeous tiered skirt. There are also sizes 6,8,10 and 12 left in this gorgeous jumpsuit (below), which is now half-price.
