Something for a (wintery) weekend

It’s official: winter is on its way. And I, for one, could not be happier. This weekend I will mostly be…

Wearing winter whites…

QDR-ECR-04I loved the quilted white dress (above) from Hush as soon as I set eyes upon it. It’s such an easy piece to wear. If you’re more of a cosy jumpers type of girl, try this one. I also spotted this ribbed tunic-style jumper in Gap last week and was rather taken with it; see also their cashmere crew neck – although, personally, I have in mind something more on the chunky-knit side, in which case this Mango number does the job nicely (See also this one):

Cosying up under a blanket…

We love The White Company. This lambswool throw has night in on the sofa, watching Strictly, glass of red wine to hand, woven into it. (I also love the herringbone design of the Cranley).

Lighting a winter candle…

I definitely change my candles with the seasons. What feels right in April definitely does not cut it in November. My favourites include Jo Malone’s heady Pomegranate Noir, Neom’s  warm, relaxing Christmas Wish and the classic Diptyque wintery scents: Baies, Feu de Bois or Pomander. Or keep it simple and festoon your home with white candles.

Planning my daughter’s birthday party…

8916249653140346ccbcba57cd5b60c4This always marks the beginning of the festive season for me. My little girl was born at the beginning of December, so we celebrate her birthday – and then swing right into Christmas. Given how much has happened in the past couple of months, we’re keeping her birthday small, sweet and simple this year: a cupcake decorating party with BKD London (my little girl adores cooking – we are keen but not in any way expert), with decorations courtesy of the party shop at Alex&Alexa (I love that site; I seem to order something from them every week at the moment). She’s evinced a preference for glitter and stars, so we’re starting with these…
