Oh Spring. Oh joy for the return of simpler dressing. Instead of painstakingly co-ordinating (or not, as the case may be) an outfit, you skip out of bed, into the shower, and then fling on a frock. Oh frabjous day. Okay. so maybe you’re still adding a jumper, or a jacket; and yes, your legs might be a touch chilly first and last thing – but still, I maintain, one element of my life is about to get easier.
The ideal Spring dress is simple; (probably) has sleeves – or can be layered over a longer-sleeved top; is not too short (save that for when your legs have a bit of colour – although do by all means slap on some fake tan); and is a suits-all colour. Just in time for this weekend, here’s our round-up of the best. To avoid excess of images, I must add here that I love this one from & Other Stories; Chinti & Parker have some brilliant options – this chambray number is lovely (and also sounds my inner ‘would work for a bump’ alert ); and you obviously know all about my burgeoning Mango obsession: I have this one (as seen on Instagram) and could wear it layered over a Breton, but this is also very Isabel Marant at a fraction of the price.
