Spring Style Special: Baby Girls

I admit, I drew the long straw here. There is SO MUCH good stuff out there for baby girls. One thing I must do, before I go any further, is to recommend that anyone who has small people to read Little Spree. Written by a fashion editor, stylist and mother of twins (Tabitha and Marlow, collectively known as ‘Tabarlow’), it is a veritable treasure trove of gorgeousness on a small scale. Sarah has impeccable taste. So much so that I permit myself a fleeting moment of smugness when she recommends something I’ve already snapped up for C. AND you should also sign up to Half Pint Chic: flash designer sales at high street prices.

Anyway, onto the clothes (if you haven’t already skipped off merrily to Little Spree). The problem here is that there’s almost too much choice (sorry mums of boys. It sucks, I know), so I’ve limited myself by budget (you can go ke-ray-zee shopping for girls: the Bonpoint store at Bicester is my downfall). Still found it hard to stop, though.

Scalloped eyelet dress, £16.95, gap; Gingham print dress, £14.99, Zara Kids

I have to show you this Boden dress from the front and the back because it is too sweet.

Apron pinnie, £20-£22, Boden

These tops represent C’s default style: skinny trousers and a pretty blouse. (We have had this yellow number – I could have wept when it no longer fit her.) I am obsessed with DPAM. Obsessed, I tell you. (Yes, they ship to the UK. Would I tempt you like this if you couldn’t?)

Smock, €16.00; blouse, €19.00, DPAM

Floral print trousers, £15.99, Zara; skinny leggings, £12.95, gap

Because, come spring, you’ll want to swap the grey skinnies and dark jeans for something a little more pastel-hued. You don’t? Check out H&M for splendid basics, like this little top and all-in-one (terrifically useful if your little girl is crawling – protects the knees.) Of course, as with all these items, just layer up and you little girl is spring-ready as soon as the sun has any semblance of warmth. Pop a long-sleeved white bodysuit (H&M’s are organic cotton and a total bargain) or a striped top (Boden’s are super soft) underneath and she’s good to go.

Blouse, £4.99; Jumpsuit, £7.99, both H&M

And just because I cannot resist them, how about some teeny tiny shoes, even if those feet aren’t yet walking, I give you these from Zara Kids.
