As far as I can ascertain, Marlien Rentmeester is very, very cool. A former NY fashion editor, she has a cool blog, Le Catch, which is dedicated to sourcing the best high and low end fashion around, and how to combine them to fabulous effect.   Here she is in her lovely study, sitting at her, naturally, very cool desk. I love the rug (very this season – black and white is everywhere); the slick, black and white colour scheme against the vintage-looking blind and the flash of yellow provided by the flowers. (I am a big fan of flowers on desks, despite sharing my desk at home with my husband – more to come on styling your desk another day….).   ¬† GET THE LOOK…. Her living room has the same mix-it-up (but match it) charm. The burnt orange, ikat cushions are a real counter to the regal purple of that corner sofa. (There’s something very cosy about a corner sofa.) I leave you with her colour-coded bookshelf. It warms my heart.
