Spring Style Special: Baby Girls

I admit, I drew the long straw here. There is SO MUCH good stuff out there for baby girls. One thing I must do, before I go any further, is to recommend that anyone who has small people to read Little Spree. Written by a fashion editor, stylist and mother of twins (Tabitha and Marlow, collectively known as ‘Tabarlow’), it is a veritable treasure trove of gorgeousness on a small scale. Sarah has impeccable taste. So much so that I permit myself a fleeting moment of smugness when she recommends something I’ve already snapped up for C. AND you should also sign up to Half Pint Chic: flash designer sales at high street prices. Anyway, onto the clothes (if you haven’t already skipped off merrily to Little Spree). The problem here is that there’s almost too much choice (sorry mums of boys. It sucks, I know), so I’ve limited myself by budget (you can go ke-ray-zee shopping for girls: the Bonpoint store at Bicester is my downfall). Hand Candy

So, on Friday evening, my husband and I went out for supper to celebrate our wedding anniversary. (It was lovely, thanks. We went here – it’s just reopened after a refit and very nice it looks, too. Plus the food is pretty sublime.) Anyway, this is not the point. The point is that, when I was getting ready to go out, I realised that – despite a respectable collection of bags, I do not have one which befits an evening occasion. Obviously, what I really want is this (because what woman in her right mind doesn’t love a. a bit of sparkle and b. a bit of Anya): You could dress it down with skinny jeans and a (ahem) Breton striped top; dress it up with a fabulous evening frock (or be like my friend Anna and rock leather leggings and peep toes mere weeks after you give birth. Yep, that’s how fabulous she is.). But, fan of mine though she is, whispering about it in my two-year-old’s ear is unlikely to yield Hindmarch cometh Mothers’ Day. So, I opted to look elsewhere.
