What to wear the day after the night before….

x8lpkiacc3yxqxrkzalnAs we hurtle headlong into party season, it’s time to not just think about what to wear on a Big Night Out, but also what to curl up into the morning after. Hush recently asked me to pick out my favourite outfit for the party season (you can see what I chose here), which got me thinking (the lazy toad that I am) about what I’d wear the Morning After or in fact any lazy day when it’s as gloomy, windy and as wintery outside as it is today.

The answer for me always comes down to a big, comfy knit. Nothing too clingy, nothing to show off the results of party or morning-after bingeing, but also something quite stylish. When working in an office, many moons ago, I always found it better to ‘dress up’ after a night out as for some reason it helped me feel just that little less rough. The same also applies here. And so, this cashmere boyfriend jumper (£185) is perfect. Soft, slouchy and long enough to cover the bum, I love it. Although, I also think that this Nessa cardi (£110) – great for wrapping yourself up in – and this Essential Crew Neck (£55) also fit the bill.

What to wear with it depends on whether you’ll be spending the day on the sofa or following my old maxim of dressing up to make yourself feel better – and perhaps heading out for a much-needed carb-laden lunch to make yourself feel human again. If I were doing the latter, then I’d plump for a pair of surprisingly-wearable leather leggings such as these (£330) or perhaps a pair of coated jeans (£75). If I were spending the day inside, then it’d be these super-comfy harems (£49.50) all the way….

ps this post isn’t sponsored, I just love Hush!

pps I know this is the second picture of Bridget Jones I’ve featured in a week, but it’s just so good (and apt)…
