Notonthehighstreet.com is an easy go-to for really thoughtful presents – and we love this idea: a creative baking session. (And not just because it means you might get some time off whilst they have a lovely time with dad…) We’re already fans of BKD London (who came to our house and made cupcakes with a table of excited children for Claudia’s fourth birthday), and recently discovered that baking might just be where her daddy’s culinary gifts lie. How could we resist the opportunity to try it out?
Now your little one can take their daddy on a baking adventure – just head to our Instagram and Facebook pages to find out how to enter – or email us at email@example.com with W&W x notonthehighstreet/Baking with Dad in the subject box.
In the meantime, here is the W&W review of the day, by Claudia, age 5.
“Oh my gosh, it was fun. We went on the tube and the train to the hotel for the baking day.
We had to roll the cookie dough to make them round and small – so they looked like cake lollipops. (I think we put chocolate buttons into them….) Then we decorated them. You have to roll out the icing very carefully (the lady helped me) – I really liked cutting out the shapes. The best bit was when we made a pink bat (because it was pink, which is my favourite colour).
I’d never made cookies with Daddy before. He’s a good baker, actually. It was really fun and very good to spend the day with him. Can you say I love him so much because he does nice things with me and reads me stories?”
(Of course I can, little one.)
