Have you heard that we’re in for a cold snap? Hats, scarves and wrist-warmers to the ready!
I actually love it when it gets really crisp and cold, with bright blue skies and a twinkling layer of frost on the grass in the morning. Much preferable to those mild-ish, wet-ish, drizzly grey days, which we had last winter. But, this does mean wrapping up, which again, for someone who loves big cuddly cardigans, pulling their jumper over their hands and oversized scarves, not to mention steaming cups of coffee, is just about perfect. What isn’t perfect is how cold I get when sat at my desk, hence the fact I have my eyes on these gorgeous cashmere wrist warmers from Hush, which are great for 3/4 length jumpers and for protecting my cuffs from stretching. Sticking with the cashmere theme (and why not), these fingerless gloves are most-definitely on The List (although not ‘that’ list, that’s where Jamie Dornan and Idris Elba reside) I also like these fingerless gloves and because you can never have too many stripes in your life, how about these from Sonia Rykiel at Avenue 32?
I also love a big scarf. They’re practically essential for 8 months of the year. Lily & Lionel make beautiful scarves. It’s hard to choose just one (so I didn’t). I do love their collection of cashmere-blend Slim Aarons scarves, this limited-edition Angie Nude cashmere -blend scarf and this Isla Tangerine scarf. This beautiful pom pom one from The White Company is expensive, but if you have a really cold neck, then perhaps you can justify it. Then there are of course snoods. An item I don’t own, but am tempted to buy. This looks snuggly.
It has to be really cold for me to wear a hat, although it’s definitely advisable when running. Not sure how advisable pom pons are when running, but this Iris & Ink one would be ideal for the school run. Gap have been a bit meh recently, but their hats are sweet and great value. Talking of good value, you can’t beat Accessorize when it comes to winter warmers. Let’s start with this pom pom hat, before moving onto this mustard beanie, which might not suit me, but would look great on the right person (Caroline de Maigret, I’m talking to you). Finally, I do have my eye on this navy little number from Boden – chunky and pom-pom’d, what’s not to like?
