It will be hot. It will be hot. It will be hot. Think positive. Think positive. Think positive. I am obsessing about the weather. Did you notice? If it does ever turn to spring and then summer, this is what I plan to be wearing…
I have a thing about printed, ankle-skimming trousers and this pair are particularly lovely. They could be dressed up with heels and a black jacket (check out Atterley Road’s styling – it’s great) or a blazer like this one from Zara or this one from Jaeger or if you’re really looking to invest this one from the queen of sharp tailoring, Stella McCartney) or dressed down as you can see above.
You can’t beat a plain white t-shirt and this one from H&M is perfect. Perfectly-priced also. Wear with printed trousers, maxi-skirts, shorts, jeans – anything really. It’s classic for a reason…
I love an old, beaten-up denim jacket, or at least, a denim jacket that looks a bit old and beaten up. Wear with sleeves rolled up and maybe a long scarf like this one or this one, and you have the perfect summer look. While denim and denim is a big theme for this summer, I doubt many of you will be trying it. So, wear instead with printed trousers, a maxi skirt or floral dress. I guarantee you won’t want to take it off again. However, if you’re just not feeling the ’90s vibe of the denim jacket, you could just sling on this gorgeous coral jumper from Gap (styleseeker note – I bought this jumper yesterday in store (in coral and navy)where it was £14.97. They are practically giving them away until the end of the month)
This is of limited interest to anyone but me, but I had a temporary panic after I uploaded a picture of these gorgeous sandals and then promptly forgot where they came from. The point is that they look expensive, even though they’re not. They’re leather. They’re coral (the colour of the moment) and they work with everything. If you’d prefer a heel, try these coral courts from Topshop.
I realise that I’m having a bit of a Gap moment, what with recommending scarves and jumpers, and now bags. However, they really do have a nice collection for spring/summer AND an up-to-60%-off sale at the moment. It’s hard to beat. But, back to the bag. This shimmery gold leather tote is big enough to stuff all your junk in (sorry, I mean essentials) and pretty enough to carry all summer. Perfect.
If you’re looking to accessorise, you could also add this pretty gold bracelet, £125, from Dinny Hall and these ’90s-esq hoop earrings, £18, by Made. And then slip on some De La Soul and work it like Hilary from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
