One of the most frustrating things about fashion is the way the seasons fall. In particular, the way that as soon as summer finally arrives, the shops are gearing up for their autumn/winter collections, clearing the clothes that you might actually want to wear RIGHT NOW to one side, making space for the heavy coats, boots and sweaters that you can’t possibly think about when it’s knocking 30 degrees. Moreover, what is on sale tends to be the dregs of the summer collections – the dodgy dress that clings in all the wrong places, the shoes you love but can only find in size 2, the pair of sunglasses that make you look like Elton John however much you try and channel Liz Taylor – you get the picture. While I am by no means a good sales shopper (I actually hate them), the explosion of online boutiques makes it a lot easier. And so, if you are in desperate need of a floaty dress, a beautiful sandal or a killer pair of shorts, but have failed to stock up as, quite frankly, after the last few years summer is a bit of a surprise, don’t worry – they still can be found. Even better, most are on sale, and we being the thoughtful people we are, have done the hard work for you. Meaning that you don’t have to trawl around the overheated (or over-airconned) jumble sales that are shops in July, you can just click and buy. And, what could be easier than that?
