Zero Time, Max Style: The Investment Piece

rosepinkskirt

I love the simplicity of investing in one great piece. It takes the fuss out of shopping when you think, “Right, I have £x to spend and that whole sum will be given to the perfect y“. And then that perfect y component, whatever it might be, comes along and makes all the difference to your wardrobe. Come to think of it, this could well be the grown-up approach to shopping (about time, some might think.)

Very Exclusive has been quite the sartorial discovery of our summer. I love that they edit the best offerings from a handpicked selection of designer brands. They also have the best sale on at this moment, which is where I picked up this Carven skirt. I’m wearing it now with a simple white tee (like this one or this one) or a white shirt – I love the soft fit of this one from Topshop; or going  all-out for pretty with a broderie top – like this one. I know I ought to wear heels, really, given the length, and I love the idea of teaming it with a navy jumper (try this cashmere number for size) and simple heels for work. But would you look at these sandals? Slip them on and pretend you’re in Positano.
