So here’s an idea we seriously love: altruistic shopping. To mark the 20th anniversary of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, hush will donate 30% of sales from three choice pieces to FTBC for the duration of the campaign (which starts tomorrow). Featuring the S/S jumpsuit in olive; the sequin dress [above] and the feather print tee. “We’re an overwhelmingly female company,” says founder and Creative Director Mandy Watkins, “in which sadly too many of us have already been touched by the effects of cancer – so, if our contribution can go a little way to funding the research necessary to beat this horrible disease, we’re glad to help”.
I own the winter (i.e. long-sleeved) version of this and can attest that it is both incredibly comfortable and very flattering. (And I’m 5 ft 3″ – so no Amazonian goddess). I love this – and I promise it’s a good investment piece. Wear it with flats and layered gold jewellery for a work/play look. (It’s also an excellent piece to pack if you’re going away – wear with heels for evening (or jazzy flats) and with sandals by day.
S/S Jumpsuit, £75, Carter sandals, £49
The sequin dress
I’ve seen this frock in person and it’s a gorgeous shimmering sea of golden sequins. Dress it down with a cotton tee (yes, that Courtney Love vibe is absolutely back for summer) and trainers, then upgrade to fake tan (not too much) when you’re ready to hit the town (or if you’re like me, whatever you now do in lieu of hitting the town).
Sequin dress, £190; Sheer crew tee, £35; Richmond trainers, £32
The feather tee
Simple, well-cut (and thus flattering) and how nice to zhuzh up a plain white tee. I’m tempted to go dress-down and add these harem trousers (Alex raves about them – and I am pretty tempting to invest) and a denim jacket (also v on trend for S/S).
Feather print tee, £30; Harem trousers, £45; Denim jacket, £59
