And all through the house, not a present was purchased… Until now. This will be the year when I conquer the shopping before 24th December (even though last year’s Christmas Eve dash was highly pleasing on the the reductions front). Each week up until Christmas, we’ll bring you present ideas – from ‘just in case’ to ‘hint hint’. We wish you a very merry festive retail experience.
There is no particular rhyme or reason to my selection. The only criteria is that I love them – and would want to give (or receive) them.
These alphabet candles are incredibly chic – and incredibly priced. Nice one, M&S. And what little girl could resist teddy bear mittens? They will be making their way into my daughter’s stocking. It’s often tricky to buy things for other people’s homes – but even those with impeccable taste would find nothing wanting in the clean lines of this vase. This jumper feeds beautifully into my obsession with cable knits – I think my husband would look very dashing sporting it. (And the man/gentleman caller in your life would, doubtless, also look splendid.) I am definitely one of those people who loves giving and receiving books – this one is a beauty. I also love the Z for Accessorize range – and who doesn’t crave a little box of something sparkly under the tree?
Alphabet candles, £6 each, Marks & Spencer; Amelie vase, £15, The White Company; Sparkle bear mittens, £9.95, Gap; Fisher cable knit jumper, £85, Boden; Cecil stone stacking rings, £17, Accessorize; Maps book, £20, M&S
