Cool Coats for Autumn: Part 2

Ah, the coat. A shortcut to style if ever there was one. As Alex rightly pointed out last week, buy now, or regret later. Also, time to weight up that classic purchase versus on-trend buy dilemma. Perhaps you can afford to do both, but if not, have we got the coat lowdown (the coatdown?) for you……

Boden: Top 5 Sale Hits

I’ll be honest, with my penchant for a floaty white summer frock with an Isabel Marant Etoile vibe, I wasn’t expecting to find one of my favourite summer dresses at Boden. But I love this dress. I wore it this week (here) when it was about a gazillion degrees (or thereabout) in London, and felt more South of France than West of London. And it’s on sale. Yep, the Boden sale has dropped and it is what my friend Sarah once referred to as “a real sale” i.e. one with proper discounts. Not £5 off. Shoe Love

Yup, it is still January. It is still freezing. I am still wrapped up under a rug. BUT, that doesn’t stop me dreaming of warmer days, ankle-skimming trousers and these rather fabulous tassle-tastic shoes. Natasha and I first spotted these beauties at the Boden press day a few months ago when it was love at first sight. And, now they’re in stock! Guaranteed to bring a little spring to your step they are the perfect spring/summer shoes – ideal for dressing up a pair of jeans or for pattern clashing with a bright skirt. And, if spots don’t do it for you, how about this purple and navy pair, which have a more wintery feel? Or even this bright pink and orange pair? I think they might be the shoe of the season……

January’s Uniform

This look – skinny trousers, big jumper – is my new obsession. So nonchalant. So easy to throw on without having to think about it. (Which is, let us face it, a priority when you’re trying to get self, child and baby out the door in time for school. Heaven only knows how I’m going to do it when I go back to work after maternity leave. Answers on a postcard – or via a comment below – gratefully received.)…
