It’s August. You don’t need to think about your winter coat, right?
Wrong. There has never been a better time to think coat. Especially if you want to nab yourself a high street bargain.
To begin, I have two words for you: think pink. Yep. pink.
This entire outfit is Marks & Spencer. I know. This coat caused a stampede at the A/W press day. It’s £85 and not yet in store – but keep your eyes peeled because this went on sale last week and is now unavailable in sizes 6 to 10 (note to M&S: if you’re going to sell something for fashionista types, you might want to make more of them). If you’re size 12-18, all I can say is click-and-buy-now (or regret it).
As I appear to have missed that boat, I shall have to turn to what I am already thinking of as ‘my’ winter coat. This lovely number from Gap (in stores soon) has a just flash of pink as a nod to the trend, but has that navy peacoat vibe.
However, if I am feeling brave, I’ll opt for pink glorious pink – courtesy of Zara, who do a fine line in coats which look waaaaay more expensive than they actually are. This one is a beauty in the palest shell pink.
It’s this one which really speaks to me, though. Too cute.
What? You want a coat which Just Goes With Everything and Looks Good and for the sake of all that is good and pure isn’t PINK? Well, I say, best get thee to Cos, where there are some splendidly simple coats with non-alarming price tags.
Craving pattern? Try one of these. (Okay, so the one on the right isn’t high street, but it’s not high end, either.
