We had the best week in Corsica (our fifth time on this perfectly gorgeous island: guide coming soon!) I also rigorously applied the packing rules which made life so simple that I am (almost) tempted to streamline my wardrobe. (I said ‘almost’…)
We were there for a week and I was packing for four people. I had one big case and one small case (for toiletries and *coughs* work). So when it came to packing for myself, I pared it right back to a palette of blue and white (with a teensy flash of red). I took two pairs of sandals (two tan pairs – these are similar to the pair worn above – and a pair of slides – and two swimsuits and one bikini (very like this one). This basket from Wood/Grey [above] was a brilliant buy: strong enough to serve as an in-flight bag (packed with child-related paraphernalia) and doubled up as a beach basket, too. One pair of shorts did beach and bar and poolside service (I bought this MiH ones two years ago in a summer sale and they have proved to be an excellent investment), teamed with pretty tops which could be thrown over swimwear, and worn on the plane with khakis – mine are from Gap.
(I also added a long-sleeved jumpsuit (this is the short-sleeve version) which I changed into every evening, as I am to mosquitoes what chocolate is to my children i.e. utterly irresistible.)
