And a very merry, restful, hopeful New Year - from us t…
I write this whilst watching The Holiday (again) and conducting three separate WhatsApp chats - mostly about Christmas. One week, folks. That's all we have. And I offer you the one gift that truly will keep giving...a really good book.…
I cannot tell you how hard I find shopping for men. The men in my life either don't want anything, or do that thing of buying what they want/need as soon as they want/need it (my husband is a particular offender. My son will probably be the same once he gets old enough not delighted by wooden trains and Matchbox cars). There are rules about this kind of thing, people - especially in the run-up to Christmas. This said, I have rustled up a few ideas....…
I've always loved the idea of long hair, but the truth (which it's taken me a long time to accept) is that it doesn't love me, and so a few months ago I went for 'the chop'. And this time, for the first time, I'm not looking back...…
....this year, we'd like to make things easy. We don't have much time on our hands, we have a lot of presents to buy and with The Big Day just around the corner, not much time to do it. So, Christmas, we've come up with a plan. Let's just do all our shopping in one, rather glorious, place with an amazing 15% discount....…
As Whigfield once *almost* sang, 'It's party time and not one minute we can lose...deciding what to wear'. But dressing up doesn't have to mean reach for the dress, alternative party dressing can be (whisper it) even more fabulous.…
Last night, Natasha and I received a message from somebody questioning our integrity. She had 'suspicions' that we weren't disclosing paid-for posts, gifts and partnerships and wanted to confront us about it. So, the question is, are we telling the truth?…
Do you know what we really, really wish for this Christmas? A Chanel 2.55 bag, perhaps? Or a lifetime’s supply of cashmere? Perhaps a ginormous Net-a-Porter gift card or a suite for the weekend at a swanky hotel? Nope. (Although if anyone does want to get us any of these, do please feel free, you are more than welcome and we will be more than grateful.) What we really want is: more – and better – sleep. To stop stressing. To properly relax (not just pretend to whilst flicking through our phone and our mental to-do list. To enter the new year refreshed, relaxed and – why not? – merry and bright. And now these gifts may actually be within our grasp. And yours too. Oh, and there’s also a discount to be had….…
Party dressing isn't what it used to be. Not because we've abandoned the brief dresses of our youth (we were more of the jeans-and-a-pretty-top generation) but because we have less chance to get dressed up, so we make more of it when we actually do. Nice dress for dinner with girlfriends? Absolutely. Jumpsuit and fabulous heels for a 40th? Bring it on (this is what Alex wore to my 40th and very fabulous she looked in it, too).…
For the last couple of years, my husband and I haven't given each other a present as such, but instead used the money we've 'saved' on a weekend away. And with hotels like these, who wouldn't want a night in one as a present?…
