It must be the sunshine – which has been glorious (sorry if it’s been less than glorious where you are) – but both my garden and I are coming over all floral abundance this week. I’ve also discovered that there are some seriously talented girls out there, setting out on their own flowery path. Bookmark (or just book) them NOW before demand goes crazy.
I have to start with my ridiculously talented friend, Sarah Cooper-White (check out her work – above and below). A beauty journalist by day, she’s a floral genius by evening and at the weekend. I’d get married all over again just to have her do the flowers for the wedding. (Look out for more from her at a later date on W&W.) Contact her via her blog, Poppy & Peonies (Poppy is her lovely little girl).
Grace (of the brilliant Pregnant Beauty Guide) alerted me to the adorable One Flew Over (“Flowers, by girls who like good flowers”). The girls in question are the talented Jess and Charlie (check out their blog) and their work has that artless vintage, Scarlet & Violet vibe which requires a vast amount of skill. I adore these Valentine’s jam jars (if only I’d known – I’d have sent my Mr W&W to them, post haste).
Miss Pickering‘s flowers are too quirkily lovely for words: hers are bouquets with soul. I long to visit her shop, but in the meantime, I’d happily settle for having a bouquet delivered (from £35) and wistfully perusing her blog, from which I have borrowed these splendid examples of her work.
One more – my own little flower girl, ‘helping’ me water the garden (note the novel ‘watering can’).
